Meet Roslyn Evans, OTR/L, CHT

Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, CHT is the owner and director of Indian River Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation in Vero Beach, Florida, a private practice that she started in 1980. She has developed innovative ideas and published numerous clinical studies that have been recognized through many honors and awards in Hand Therapy nationally and internationally.

Roslyn Evans has working relationships with many respected hand surgeons from years of sharing faculty positions and providing continuing education seminars and published clinical studies. She was the first recipient for the American Foundation Research Award of the American Hand Therapy Foundation. She has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Hand Therapy since 1990, the editorial board of the Yearbook of Hand Surgery from 1990-2001, and has edited two special issues for the Journal of Hand Therapy.

Indian River Hand Rehab provides rehabilitation for patients and receives direct referrals from many well-known hospitals and specialty clinics from around the country. The facility is known on a national and international level for innovative clinical research on Dupuytren’s disease, flexor and extensor tendon management, treatment of trigger fingers and carpal tunnel, and wound healing.

At Indian River Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation, only therapists with advanced degrees are involved in hands-on patient care.

 

Our professional staff are all licensed by the State of Florida as registered Occupational or Physical Therapists and in addition are certified by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. Professional staff are required to meet the state of Florida laws regarding continuing education for AIDS, CPR, BLS and professional CEU’s. We support the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as the American Physical Therapy Association. The current clinical staff has been maintained from 10 to 30 years. Manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, custom orthotics, and modalities are applied by certified therapists with additional education. 

Our office staff is happy to assist you with appointments, insurance issues, and any other concerns. They manage the business issues of the practice with efficiency and courtesy.
